Yes, if you keep your belongings in self storage, they need to be insured.
If they are worth keeping, they’re worth insuring. We have a fantastic security record, however, it is always best to be on the safe side and keep everything insured. This then covers you in case anything should happen, such as the fire that broke out at this Manchester self-storage site last year.
Many companies will charge you extra for insurance, or you will need to source some yourself.
Make sure you have adequate cover for the value of your contents.
At The Space Program, insurance is included as standard, for no extra charge. You are covered for up to £25,000 of contents. When you sign up for a unit, you will need to fill out an insurance manifest which requires you to list the contents and their value.
If you would like more information about insurance, a summary of the terms and conditions we offer can be found here, or you could just give us a call.
